Congleton Garden Machinery, founded over 31 years ago, is a well-established and expanding local retail business in Congleton. Internationally recognised for selling and hiring horticultural, farming, forestry, equine, small plant and all-terrain vehicle (quad-bike) equipment and parts, CGM offers in excess of 750k unique products through its online stores - Mowersplus and PolarisQuad. The company is currently undergoing significant growth and a transformation that offers exciting opportunities for new team members.

1) SALES/PARTS EXECUTIVE - Full-Time
Based at our Headquarters on Congleton Trade Centre, Radnor Park Industrial Estate, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 4XJ
Working in a fast paced retail environment for a well established Horticultural, Forestry and ATV supplier. Previous industry experience is desirable although not essential as full training provided.
Parts Advisor is a key role interacting with all areas of the business including sales, workshop service, repair and customers.
Always ensure a seamless customer experience, including the consistent delivery of customer service meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Responding to customer parts enquiries via email, telephone and in person, advising and responsibility for selecting correct parts for their machine
- Processing parts orders in person, over the phone or by email
- Direct face to face selling of small machines and accessories
- Checking availability of parts on computerised stock records
- Managing parts stock levels are accurate and storage locations are accessible and tidy
- Ordering parts, creating purchase orders, booking in stock and allocating to customer order
- Maintaining stock levels of key saleable and service parts using computerised min/max product system and part set up
- Responding to customer machine sales and accessory enquiries mainly in the shop environment but also telephone and emails
- Responsible for correct machine handover and customer awareness when completing sale
- Monitor shop machine sales and where possible replenish shop stock display
- Identify, advise and order parts needed for customer, internal workshop repair job or service
- Management of warranty parts retention required by suppliers
- Booking in customer machine repairs / service jobs, communicating status and completion lead-time
- Awareness of hire portfolio and procedure for completing hire orders
Seamless Customer Experience
- Pro-active management of;
- sales orders and workshop job parts in, chasing suppliers where lead-times are excessive
- supplier backordered parts, sourcing alternatives where possible
- customer job status communicating unforeseen problems and delays
2) WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE & DRIVER - Full-Time

We are currently searching for a Warehouse Operative to join our team that would suit a positive, well organised individual with experience in trailer towing, operations, logistics, warehouse management or production. Your main responsibilities will be for the organisation of a busy, 500+ product warehouse and workshop, as well as delivering machines to customers.
Responsibilities
Delivery and collection of garden, farming and small plant machinery (e.g. ATV’s, diggers, quads, lawn tractors using large company van and trailer).
Ability and patience to introduce customers to the operation of their machine in a friendly manner.
Assembly of all machines and following checklist to ensure they meet requirements before delivering to customers.
Organisation of daily collection and deliveries into the warehouse (ability to think logically and plan ahead).
General, basic maintenance of the machines in the warehouse (inflating tyres, charging batteries, checking oil levels etc).
Configure the warehouse storage – requires someone who can foresee the best positioning of the items in the warehouse to enable it to run smoothly.
Take ownership of warehouse recycling.
Improve and maintain the overall appearance of our building and grounds.
The role is very varied and, as a small team, we all support one another on a large variety of other jobs from time to time. Therefore, the role can include such things as dealing with customers in-store or over the phone, marketing, logistics, cost analysis (training given if required), general maintenance and more.
Preferable
* Experience of warehouse operations and logistics
* Basic engineering knowledge (e.g. how engines work, how lawnmowers operate)
* Knowledge of basic building or ground maintenance
* Fork-lift licence
* Proactive and responsible in approach to do things ahead of being asked
* Willingness to flex hours occasionally
* Experience working in an environment where excellent customer service was core to the business (e.g. how to handle customer complaints effectively, good at building rapport, proactive communication)
Requirements
* Clean and up to date driving and trailer towing licence
* Good understanding of need to adhere to health and safety requirements
* Basic technical knowledge of machinery or parts within farming, garden, car, construction, plant, or quad industry (e.g. how engines operate, how lawnmowers function etc)
* Ability to read, understand and carefully and consistently follow operating procedures under pressure
* To be able to read and decipher instructions and machine diagrams - a logical thinker
* Basic business acumen to confidently market our products and services when delivering
3) CUSTOMER SERVICES MANAGER - Full-Time
