Congleton Garden Machinery, founded over 31 years ago, is a well-established and expanding local retail business in Congleton.  Internationally recognised for selling and hiring horticultural, farming, forestry, equine, small plant and all-terrain vehicle (quad-bike) equipment and parts, CGM offers in excess of 750k unique products.  The company is currently undergoing a transformation that offers exciting opportunities for new team members.
We are currently searching for a warehouse operative to join our team which would suit a positive, well organised individual with experience in trailer towing, operations, logistics, warehouse management or production.  Your main responsibility will be for the organisation of a busy 500+ product warehouse as well as delivering machines to customers.   

PREREQUISITES
- Clean driving licence and BE Trailer licence (able to tow 3.5 tonne)  
- Some technical knowledge, preferably in the areas of forestry, equestrian, ATV, small plant, garden and farming machinery
- Good understanding of need to adhere to health and safety requirements
 
RESPONSIBILITIES  

- Delivery and collection of garden, farming and small plant machinery (e.g. ATV’s, diggers, quads, lawn tractors using large company van and trailer)
- Ability to introduce customer to the operation of their machine
- Assembly of all machines, putting oil and petrol in them to ensure they are in good working order ready for customers  
- Organisation of daily collection and deliveries into the warehouse
- General simple maintenance of the machines in the warehouse   
- Configure the warehouse storage – requires someone who can foresee the best positioning of the items in the warehouse to enable it to run smoothly
- Take ownership of warehouse recycling
- Improve and maintain the overall appearance of our building

PREFERABLE

- Fork-lift licence
- Knowledge of basic building maintenance
- An understanding of mechanical parts
- Customer service experience
- Ability of using computers – Microsoft Office (Excel), web browser and stock system
- People management
- Proactive in their approach and has a responsible attitude
- Willingness to flex hours occasionally
