BCS Duplex Laser® Scythe Cutter Bar

The duplex Laser® scythe will quickly cut vegetation of any height or density up to 2½cm (1”) thick and is ideal for managing large areas of wildflower meadows and grasses for haymaking.

The anti-clog serrated blades will cut through vegetation up to 1” diameter, including brambles and even first year saplings.

This scythe cutter bar combines all the advantages of both the standard Laser® scythe cutter bar and the duplex scythe cutter bar. The Laser® duplex scythe excels at cutting all types of overgrown vegetation, it also has low vibration, and a faster cutting speed. This lower vibration enables the operator to use the machine for longer periods and so, coupled with the faster cutting speed, this means that the Laser® duplex scythe is a fantastic solution for those needing to cut large areas quickly and efficiently.

The scythe makes a single scissor-like cut at the base of the vegetation, leaving the material whole. This is what makes the scythe the best tool for cutting long grass for haymaking and for cutting wildflowers.

Because the cutter bar is located out at the front of the machine it can get into areas that other mowers can’t, such as under fences, round the base of trees, at the edge of water, and so on.

They are also very economical to run as the power unit should never be on more than one-quarter throttle so fuel consumption is very low.

What are the minimum power unit requirements?
8.4hp petrol or 6.1hp diesel engine.
Three working speeds.
Locking differential.
4.00 x 10 agricultural wheels.

Are any couplers or toolbars needed?
If the power unit has the Implement Quick Coupling fitted then an Additional Coupler will be required.

Please note: The BCS 660HY and 750 power units have their own specific coupler.

Is there anything else required?
If the machine is being used on a slope then twin wheels or steel bank wheels may be beneficial for improved traction and stability.
